WHY DID I RECEIVED A CALL FROM ELEMENTAL?

We understand some professionals have never had experience dealing with a search firm or search consultant, and if you are one of these people, you might be a little surprised at how we know about you and why we contacted you. If we contacted you, it means we feel that one or more of our clients might have an interest in your professional experience, either now or in the future. So our objective is to speak with you a little more to discuss your work and your career interests. This discussion can be done either by teleconference (Zoom, Teams, etc.) or in-person, depending on your preference.

HOW DO YOU KNOW ABOUT ME?

At Elemental, we are always looking for elite talent and we use many sources to find it. One of the main methods we use to learn about new talent is to research publicly available sources of people and corporate information. This would include company websites, social networking sites, career sites, professional organizations, and associations. We also attend networking events and trade shows to meet professionals in specific industries. One of our most trusted methods of finding new talent is to ask for personal referrals from other industry professionals. Talented people usually associate with other talented people, so we frequently ask our candidates for information on talented people they know, either within their current company, their past company, their clients, or their business partners. Because we treat all information we receive with extreme confidentiality, we can only reveal who might have referred your information to us unless the referrer has given us permission to do so.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING A CALL OR MEETING WITH AN ELEMENTAL CONSULTANT?

An initial screening call might only be 10 to 15 minutes depending on your interest and availability at the time we contact you. During this time we will help you understand our company and purpose, and we will ask some questions about your professional experience and career objectives. If you feel it makes sense to continue communication with us, we can arrange a second longer discussion by phone, teleconference, or in person, and at this second meeting we can go into more detailed questions about your career and whatever opportunity we might have for you. Keep in mind that because we are always doing research to build pipeline for future job assignments, it is possible we will not have an immediately suitable role for you. In this case, the purpose of the call is to begin the process of building a longer-term relationship with you – because we want to be a future source of career ideas and opportunities for you. The content of any discussions you have with us will remain confidential.

WHAT IF I AM HAPPY WITH MY CURRENT JOB AND HAVE NO INTENTION TO LEAVE?

If this is the case, then your situation is similar to 90% of the candidates we work with. The most talented people are typically highly valued at their current company and treated very well. We are not interested in pushing people away from secure and happy situations, so in this case we are very happy to simply plant the seed for a longer-term relationship. In the future you might decide you want to try something new or you might have a specific type of career goal we can help you with. It might be 5 years or even more before you are ready to consider a career move, and we want to be ready for when that time comes. In the meantime, it can be useful to receive updated market opportunities and information from us periodically.

HOW ABOUT PRIVACY?

Any candidate information we have is secured according to applicable law. We do not sell candidate information, and we absolutely do not contact any companies on your behalf without your clear permission beforehand. If you do give permission to introduce you to a particular client, we will only include your contact information at the time that they request an interview.
